That's because this is the first layer in our 1-2-3 modular series, giving you interchangeable protection and styling options for the ride. This base is made from a tough nylon and spandex jersey blend with mesh panels to increase airflow while riding. Superior breathability and shock absorption is provided by full D30 Ghost armor on the shoulders, elbows, chest and back. With impact protection off, block wind and cold by adding our Layering System Windproof Mid Layer (98146-23VW) or our Layering System Lightweight Mid Layer (98147-23VW).
